Heart Warriors of the Philippines, Inc. aims to spread congenital & acquired heart disease awareness and is dedicated to providing medical information, both to parents and patients. It also seeks donors and benefactors who will give financial and moral support to families living with congenital & acquired heart disease patients, and enable them to undergo the necessary procedure/operation that their heart warriors needed. It promotes love and hope within a community of people fighting these diseases.
HISTORY
On May 23, 2011, Mr. Gener C. Cabrera, as his means of paying forward for all the help he received during his son's battle with CHD-VSD, took the initiative to set up an online support group and named it Congenital Heart Defect Philippines with the intention of providing relevant medical information, financial, and moral support to Heart patients and families. From Hundreds of members, it becomes thousands. Many people got inspired by the advocacy of the group even celebrity Doctor Willie Ong joined the cause. He then requested to accommodate older patients not only the babies and toddlers. On December 31, 2018, Mr. Cabrera renamed the group from Congenital Heart Defect Philippines to Heart Warriors Philippines.
In September 2018, the core members of HWP realized those extra efforts are needed to be done because more heart warriors still need help. Individuals and organizations are willing and able to help but someone should step up. The group then established HEART WARRIORS OF THE PHILIPPINES INC., a non-profit corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with its number CN201819653.
These days, the Heart Warriors of the Philippines, Inc. continues to search for more resources, both medical and financial, upholding its mission and vision for a better path to those who live with Congenital and Acquired Heart Diseases.
